Thank you to all who made our first-ever trip to compete in the National Cheerleading Association 2013 Nationals possible! This is the first time in history that MIT has been represented at NCA Nationals, and our squad had an incredible experience competing and meeting squads from all over the country! Cambridge Community Gymnastics
Last Sunday, March 3rd, the MIT Cheer Squad had the pleasure of participating in a 3-hour Gymnastics Workshop led by Abbie Green, Head Instructor & Executive Director of Cambridge Community Gymnastics (CCG), and two of her fellow staff members.
Abbie and her staff worked with our squad in learning basic warmups, exercises, and drills that focus on improving the tumbling in our 2013 NCA Nationals routine. As our squad contains members with all different backgrounds, the level of professionalism and experience Abbie and her staff have was very helpful in enabling our team to improve its technique in such a small amount of time.
The MIT Cheerleading Squad would like to send a special thank you to Abbie and Cambridge Community Gymnastics for volunteering to hold this workshop in support of our organization’s endeavors to compete at Nationals for the first time ever. These grown and made in America beans are fueling athletes across the country in an effort to spread the word about the nutritious effects that beans have on the body. In regards to this “Powered By Beans” movement, Randall Beans is very excited to begin its partnership with MIT Cheerleading as a supporter of amateur athletics and has graciously donated $1,000 to the MIT Cheerleading squad in an effort to become our very first maroon level donor!
